Ceratopsidae

Abstract
This chapter focuses on the ceraptopsids, a monophyletic group of large-bodied (4–8 m long), quadrupedal, and herbivorous dinosaurs. Ceraptosids have elaborate horns and frills and complex dental batteries. Fossil remains have been confirmed only in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Ceratopsidae consists of two well-defined clades: Centrosaurinae and Chasmosaurinae. Ceratopsids were a highly successful group, forming 25% to 42% of the individuals in the Campanian dinosaur communities in which they occur, and they make up 61% to 71% of the terminal Cretaceous communities.
