Abstract
A patient with adenocarcinoma of the colon developed S. bovis endocarditis 21 mo. after presumed surgical cure of his cancer. The sequence in all previously published cases is that of bacteremia first, followed by a diagnosis of colon cancer. Is there a predetermined genetic or immunologic factor predisposing to S. bovis bacteremia even after the integrity of the mucosal barrier has been restored post-resection?This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
