Abstract
Nigella damascena seeds, enriched or not by 10B, were irradiated with thermal neutrons. In both cases the effects on chromosomes were investigated during the 1st mitotic cycle after the onset of germination. All the aberrations were found to be of the chromosome type[long dash]that is, induced during the presynthetic G1 period. By comparison with the effects of 137Cs gamma rays on tne same material, RBE values could be calculated for several kinds of aberrations. RBE''s were found to be generally high.
