Abstract
The Landau–Zener–Stueckelberg approximation has been applied to the process of forming a singly negative oxygen ion and a positive alkali ion by oxygen incident on one of the alkalies Na, K, Rb, or Cs. A central‐field potential model with an adjustable parameter is used to produce the wavefunctions with eigenenergy as close as possible to the experimental value. The impact parameter method has been used to calculate cross sections for oxygen kinetic energies from 20 eV to 10 keV.Keywords
