Abstract
In experiments in which extreme soil acidities were produced by heavy applications of S, injury to cotton roots was evidenced by a characteristic enlargement and cracking which eventuated often in death of the plants. The injured areas of the tap roots corresponded to the location of the more acid layers of soil (pH 2-4). A few less severe instances were noted in natural field soil and in experiments with a soil of pH 6.1.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
