Abstract
Measurements of the de Haas—van Alphen effect in copper, silver and gold suggest strongly that the Fermi surfaces of these metals make contact with the hexagonal faces of the Brillouin zone. The areas of cross section of the main part of the Fermi surface and of the contact have been determined. Some provisional values of effective masses have also been obtained. Keywords
