Determinations of CSF electrolytes, selected trace elements, β-glucuronidase, and acid phosphatase reveal a marked change occurring after death. The most consistent and prominent changes were in potassium and carbon dioxide combining power, the former usually elevated and the latter invariably reduced after death. Keywords
