Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to look for preference among summer food species of penned mountain hares [Lepus timidus] and see if the feeding pattern was related to a particular nutrient. Treatment with phenoxy acetic acids induces change in chemical composition of plants. Some test species were sprayed with phenoxy acetic acids to determine whether food preference altered in the same manner as change in nutrient concentration. The correlation between food preference and Ca concentration is weak. There is a reasonable nutritional explanation for Ca preference in summer. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
