Abstract
Carotid ligation, or intracranial exposure or both in 50 cases of leaking intracranial aneurysms resulted in 33 good recoveries, 5 disabled but economically competent cases, and 3 severely disabled cases. The mortality rate is much lower than in conservatively treated cases. It is concluded that spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage is an emergency calling for surgical management. Keywords
