Abstract
Diffuse boundary scattering is considered as a possible explanation of the enhanced field effect seen in thin metallic films through polarization reversal of ferroelectric substrates. It is shown that although a constant fraction of diffuse scattering cannot explain the experiments, a change in the fraction of diffuse scattering by less than 2% upon ferroelectric switching could. Keywords
