Abstract
For nearly 70 years, studies have linked alcohol abuse and hypertension. Yet, the mechanism of the association remains unknown. What are the possible explanations for this association? How does the relationship between alcohol consumption and blood pressure differ in men and women? What are the clinical implications of hypertension in alcoholics? In answering these questions, Dr Clark cites the results of numerous studies and emphasizes the potential complications of alcohol-induced hypertension. Keywords
