Abstract
Root-sucker regeneration in deteriorating Utah aspen (Populustremuloides Michx.) stands was examined for the occurrence of adventitious roots. Suckers in only 1 of 12 clones examined had well developed independent root systems. Most new roots died the same year they were initiated.
