Abstract
The mental changes which occur with aging play a role in the causation of mental disease in later life. Dr. Stieglitz discusses 1) The changes physical, mental, and emotional which occur with age, 2) The physical disorders of later years which are factors in the causation of mental diseases, and 3) The etiologic factors which appear in the background of mental illness in the aged. Emphasis is placed on early diagnosis and treatment of the patient and not merely the symptoms of the disease. Keywords
