Abstract
A defined medium, consisting of 18 amino acids, vitamins and salts, is presented for culturing the strains of Salmonella typhosa and Staphylococcus aureus used in phenol coefficient testing. Cultures so grown have the phenol resistance required by the official test procedure as described by the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists. Keywords
