Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of the most important time dissemination methods in use and describes the difficulties encountered or foreseen in applying such methods in electrical substations. The latter part of the paper is devoted to methods developed and applied by Hydro-Québec, in particular a time dissemination system used in conjunction with telephone circuits. A signal distortion problem is analyzed analytically and a correction technique is described. The experimental performance of the improved system is reported. Keywords
