Abstract
Für den Röntgenologen gewinnt das Gebiet der Kunstgelenke durch Fortschritte der alloplastischen Chirurgie zunehmend an praktischer Bedeutung. Das Bauprinzip der Kunsthüfte, die Röntgeneigenschaften der alloplastischen Materialien, das operative Vorgehen und die Einstelltechnik sowie das Bild der normalen Kunsthüfte werden beschrieben. Pathologische Veränderungen im Bereich der Kunsthüfte ergeben im Röntgenbild häufig charakteristische Veränderungen. Die meisten lassen sich direkt aus dem Röntgenbild ablesen, einige sind jedoch nur mit Hilfe des klinischen Befundes richtig zu deuten. As a result of advances in alloplastic surgery, artificial joints are becoming of increasing importance in radiological practice. The principles of artificial joints, the radiological properties of alloplastic materials, surgical procedures, radiographic techniques and appearances of normal alloplastic joints are described. Abnormal changes involving the artificial joint frequently produce characteristic radiographic appearances. Most of these can be recognised directly from the radiograph, but some can be interpreted only by taking clinical findings into consideration.
