Abstract
The purpose of phase one of this descriptive study was to obtain information about the research process. We identified problems associated with the pilot and examined the feasibility of completing phase two of the study at the national level. The pilot provided insight into the weaknesses and strengths of the tool design. It also identified interesting trends and data regarding delivery of intraoperative nursing care. The pilot study supported the ultimate goals of the research project, and we plan to continue with phase two of the study. Further research is needed to substantiate the findings and solidify the implications for perioperative nursing. Keywords
