Abstract
A simple method of estimating duration from stage frequency data is derived. A simulation model of the passage of individuals through a particular stage in the life-cycle is presented, together with results from the model on the influence of recruitment, development and mortality on the parameters used in the estimation of stage duration. The application of the method to field data is described and a test example, using simulated data, is given. This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
