Abstract
Summary The effects of nicotinic acid on serum lipids have been studied in rats. Significant decreases in serum triglyceride and cholesterol were observed in fasted rats 4 hours after oral administration of nicotinic acid. Greater reductions in triglyceride occurred than in cholesterol. In addition, in another study, oral or parenteral administration of nicotinic acid significantly inhibited fat-induced chylomicronemia. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
