Abstract
An ion accelerator has been used to evaluate three types of Faraday cups commonly used to measure plasma expansion characteristics in laser‐produced plasmas. One type of cup was found to have very low secondary emission and is very suitable for absolute measurement of ion numbers and energies. Keywords
