On the Time-Dependent Structure of the Currents in Non-Steady-State Nucleation Kinetics

Abstract
Using numerical integration, we recently studied the multistate kinetics for non‐steady‐state nucleation in supersaturated water vapor. For cluster sizes less than the critical size , we noted a consistent “overshoot” of the currents from the steady‐state current . The maximum of is greater in magnitude and is reached at an earlier time as we examine progressively smaller clusters. In this paper, we will present a theoretical argument for the feature of the maximums in the currents.
