MOTIVATION TO MANAGE AND THE MANIFESTATION OF A MANAGERIAL ORIENTATION IN CAREER PLANNING.

Abstract
The article presents a study which examined the impact of motivation to manage on the manifestation of a managerial orientation in career planning. The authors sampled 56 graduate-level business students enrolled in a management course. The course contained a series of sessions on career planning, which was being tested as a pilot program. At the end of the course, a detailed document was expected from each student, detailing their aspirations for the future. The document included an analysis of personal values, objectives, and a development life and career plan. The analysis showed that the imposing wishes index of power motivation is related positively to exhibiting a managerial orientation in career planning.
