Abstract
Single microbes can be conveniently isolated without mechanical apparatus by pipetting small drops of diluted cultures onto a glass surface immersed in paraffin oil. The drops are searched microscopically and those containing just one bacterium or spore are allowed to form clones that can be transferred with a capillary pipette. Keywords
