Abstract
The digestion of polypectate by each of the 11 indole-positive strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae studied is reported. The possible significance of pectinolytic activity for the identification of indole-positive strains of K. pneumoniae, the so-called “Oxytocum” group, is discussed. Keywords
