Abstract
This 42-year-old immunocompetent man, with no history of herpes zoster, suddenly experienced dys- and hypesthesia in his left hand. Within the next 10 days, the hypesthetic region expanded to the fingers and the left forearm, and he noticed progressive distal weakness of his left upper extremity.
