Abstract
Summary: A polymeric haptoglobin (Hp)‐like protein in bovine serum has been further characterized and compared with human polymeric haptoglobins, in particular Hp2–2. The protein differs markedly from its human counterparts in its ultracentrifugal pattern and electrophoretic separation. Treating the bovine Hp.Hb complex with sodium dodecyl sulphate appears to dissociate most of the Hb from the complex without altering the antigenicity of the parent protein.
