Abstract
Alkoxy-substituted biphenyls are highly polarized in S1, with the negative charge residing on the ring not possessing the alkoxy group, enabling the photogeneration of spectrophotometrically observable transient biphenyl quinone methides by laser flash photolysis.Keywords
