Abstract
The art of simple physical examination is still valuable. Faced with a child suspected of having Down's syndrome, a lack of facilities for chromosome analysis, and anxious parents, the physician can often make the diagnosis with a high degree of accuracy by a thor ough physical examination, performed with the help of a check-list of frequently found signs. This paper compares the results of physi cal examination with those of chromosome analysis in 150 patients. Keywords
