Abstract
The acute septicemic form of melioidosis is associated with a high mortality despite currently recommended antibiotic therapy. A patient who developed multiple complications of wounds received in Vietnam, includingPseudomonas pseudomalleisepticemia, was successfully treated with gentamicin sulfate. The use of this drug in the treatment of melioidosis has not been previously reported. Gentamicin may be useful in the treatment of this disease. Keywords
