Abstract
A photograph of 2 anomalous ears of corn shows a whorled type of phyllotaxy. One of the ears, a 4-rowed ear, illustrates the condensation by "yoking" postulated by Collins (1919). The evidence is interpreted as support for the fusion hypothesis of the origin of the maize ear. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
