Abstract
A novel silver–copper anionic cluster [Ag6Cu7(C2Ph)14]– has been synthesized from the reaction of [PhC2AgC2Ph]– and a mixture of [AgC2Ph]n and [CuC2Ph]n; its structure constitutes a central linearly co-ordinated copper atom linked through Cu–Ag interactions to three tetranuclear [Ag2Cu2(C2Ph)4] subclusters, and within each unit of the sub-cluster, copper and silver atoms are bonded through metal–metal interactions and via bridged phenylethynyl ligands. Keywords
