Interference Phenomena in Waveguides with Two Corrugated Boundaries

Abstract
Waveguide structures with two corrugated interfaces are considered. It is shown theoretically and experimentally that these structures can form the basis for a highly-efficient unidirectional grating coupler for slab waveguides. The anomalous light reflection from waveguides with two corrugated boundaries is also considered. The possibility of using corrugated waveguides for frequency stabilization of a semiconductor laser is demonstrated.
