Abstract
A crater-like hole was found in the optic disc in 7 cases. The hole did not have any constant position but in most cases did not encroach on the physiological cup or on the margin of the disc. Within the hole a connective tissue veil was frequently noted and this tended to obscure the bottom of the pit. Retinal vessels could be seen entering the hole. Keywords
