Abstract
In a series of 330 fibrescopies of the upper gastrointestinal tract the most usefull all-round instrument proved to be a long end-viewing panendoscope. The nature of the radilogical errors revaled by endoscopy indicated that the latter is essential before embarking on surgery for antral gastric ulcers, radiographically negative dyspepsia, and further gastric surgery.
