Abstract
In Transport Theory the dispersion function is frequently used in constructional proofs as well as in calculations. In the L2-space approach to transport problems as developed by the author this function is viewed as a W-A determinant for a pair of operators. Thus, the importance of the dispersion function can be explained in part from general properties of W-A determinants. This paper relates the dispersion function to such a determinant in the case of neutron transport in absorbing media with anisotropic scattering. Some of the consequences of this relation are investigated. Keywords
