Abstract
Spectroscopic and kinetic studies have made it possible to observe and assign all of the transient species and determine the formation and decay rates of some photochromic spiropyrans and naphthacenequinones. The non linear properties of these materials were utilized to design and operate a 3D optical memory system. Keywords
