Search forCPviolation in charm meson decay

We report the results of a search for CP-violating decay rate asymmetries (${\mathit{A}}_{\mathit{CP}}$) in the charm decay modes ${\mathit{D}}^{+}$→${\mathit{K}}^{\mathrm{-}}$ ${\mathit{K}}^{+}$ ${\mathrm{\pi }}^{+}$, ${\mathit{D}}^{+}$→K${\mathrm{¯}}^{\mathrm{*}0}$ ${\mathit{K}}^{+}$, ${\mathit{D}}^{+}$→φ${\mathrm{\pi }}^{+}$, and ${\mathit{D}}^0$→${\mathit{K}}^{+}$ ${\mathit{K}}^{\mathrm{-}}$. Our measurements are all consistent with zero asymmetry: ${\mathit{A}}_{\mathit{CP}}$(KKπ)=-0.031±0.068, ${\mathit{A}}_{\mathit{CP}}$(${\mathit{K}}^{\mathrm{*}}$K)=-0.12±0.13, ${\mathit{A}}_{\mathit{CP}}$(φπ)=0.066±0.086, and ${\mathit{A}}_{\mathit{CP}}$(KK)=0.024±0.084. The data were accumulated by the Fermilab high energy photoproduction experiment E687.
