Abstract
The general purpose circuit simulation package SPICE is used as a design tool for power electronic circuits. The process involves simulation of the complete circuit in the microsecond timescale, by which circuit behaviour under different operating conditions can be studied. Semiconductor device models and interconnection inductances are examined. The simulation process is applied to a 50 kVA transistorised chopper circuit and the results are discussed and compared with experimental results. Keywords
