Abstract
Thin films of iron containing a proportion of cube textured grains have been produced by epitaxial growth on cleaved rocksalt crystals. When the films are annealed in the electron microscope a single crystal film with few defects is produced, which can be several square millimetres in area. The changes of the crystal and ferromagnetic domain structures during the annealing process have been observed in the electron microscope and are described. Keywords
