Abstract
In this paper contradictions between the experimental results and the theory of Néel concerning the Rayleigh region are discussed. A model is proposed not based on Barkhausen discontinuities, but on Bloch wall friction. (The friction is equivalent to a constant opposite field. The magnetic field has to overcome the frictional force before wall motion is possible.) With this model the derivation of the Rayleigh law is possible. Furthermore one can explain the contradictions between theory and experiments. Possible mechanisms of Bloch wall friction are discussed. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
