Abstract
Of 79 patients with upper limb lymphedema, 73 developed it following radical mastectomy. The ages of the patients ranged from 32-75 yr. Direct upper lymphography and phlebography was carried out in 73 cases. Two factors were important indications for microlymphatic surgery: the level of blockade of the lymph trunks and the condition of the lymphatic trunks. Patients (53) were subjected to microsurgical intervention. Postoperative good results were seen in 30% and fair results in 56%.
