Abstract
One third of the ablation area of the Sherman Glacier was covered by a debris sheet resulting from the 1964 Alaskan earthquake. Subsequently observed changes in the mass balance and the movement regime of the glacier lead to the prediction of a surge-type advance in the near future.Keywords
