Abstract
This study attempted to evaluate a seven‐day program that used discussion, dance, and song to bring children and older adults from the community together in the context of a sixth‐grade unit on aging. Subjects were 21 sixth‐grade students who completed a questionnaire at the end of five of seven days of the program, indicating their perceptions of the activities that had occurred. Results suggested that as the program progressed the children began to perceive the older participants in active rather than passive terms, and that the nature of the program became more interactive. Keywords
