Abstract

The coexistence curve of

{He}^{4}

has been measured over the range

0.1 mdeg < T_{c} - T < 250 mdeg

. The data for

T_{c} - T < 100

mdeg fit an expression of the form

| ρ - ρ_{c} | \propto {(P_{c} - P)}^{β_{P}}

, where

ρ

is the density of either the liquid or the vapor, and

P

is the pressure;

ρ_{c} = 0.0701 \pm 0.0006

g/

{cm}^{3}

,

P_{c} = 1705.0 \pm 0.8

Torr [

T_{c} = 5.1890 \pm 0.0006 °

K], and

β_{P} = 0.355 \pm 0.004

.
