Abstract
A comparison was made, under focal conditions, of the electroretinogram (ERG) and the pattern electroretinogram (PERG) of the central yellow field of the pigeon retina, using vitreal and intraretinal recordings. The sum of the on and off ERG is of shorter time-to-peak and of smaller amplitude than the PERG elicited by a grating of 1 cycle/1.degree., as predicted by the spatial tuning of the PERG. Depth profiles were made to compare with PERG and the sum of the on and off ERG. The 2 responses co-vary in terms of amplitude, time-to-peak and form. Apparently, the PERG has a conventional electroretinographic location. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
