Abstract
Long-term treatment of renal failure in heroin addicts necessitates concurrent treatment of their drug addiction. A management paradigm is proposed to facilitate health care delivery to these patients. A unique case history illustrates the value of methadone maintenance while the patient undergoes necessary renal care—including dialysis and transplantation. Keywords
