Abstract
Osteopeltidae n. fam. is proposed for Osteopelta mirabilis n. gen. and sp., a limpet from whale skulls trawled on the Chatham Rise and off the Chatham Islands, New Zealand. Osteopelta mirabilis combines a pseudococculinid-like shell and radula with an addisoniid-like animal. Apparent homologies in lepeteloidean and cocculinoidean radulae are discussed. Keywords
