NAEVUS SYRINGADENOMATOSUS PAPILLIFERUS (WERTHER)

Abstract
Naevus syringadenomatosus papilliferus (Werther1), or naevus syringocystadenomatosus papilliferus, appears to be a rare dermatosis when judged by the few cases reported in the United States. Weidman2described a section showing the typical structure; the nevus was discussed by McCarthy.3The only case report from this country which we have found was published by Stokes,4who discussed the clinical and histologic features of the dermatosis and gave several references to prior investigations. Reports of cases from foreign countries are somewhat more numerous: the pathogenesis was well described by Gans,5Kyrle,6Dörffel7and Cardenal.8Recently, cases have been reported by Fessler,9Biberstein,10Dörffel,7and González Medina and Bigne.11 CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS Frieboes12gave a résumé of the clinical features of the disease.
