Abstract
Studies of patients with neurosyphilis undergoing vivax malaria fever therapy were made with the oximeter throughout their paroxysms. Control studies were made on these patients before inoculation with malaria. O2 saturation was plotted against time. During the chill, the O2 satn. rose slightly due to hyperpnea and then fell following the chill. The degree of fall varied with the severity of the paroxysm. When the O2 satn. fell cdnsiderably, giving pure O2 did not cause a return of O2 tension to the 100% satn. seen during standardization and before the paroxysm. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
