Abstract
We present a diffusional model for chemoreception processes under biological conditions. The reactant undergoes both translational and rotational diffusion and is ‘‘adsorbed’’ at the surface of the enzyme (or cell) only within a limited range of its possible angular orientation with respect to the surface. We discuss the effect of the rotational diffusion on the molecular flux at the surface for typical values of the diffusion constants. Keywords
